Meet Leslie Hollins, Ph.D.

Psychologist

Dr. Leslie Hollins is a dedicated psychologist specializing in comprehensive psychological evaluations for children and adolescents. She values collaboration with the broader team supporting each child or teen she evaluates, recognizing the importance of understanding the whole child. Dr. Hollins earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and her Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her emphasis on the whole child allows her to tailor each assessment to the unique needs of the individual, drawing upon more than 20 years of experience in the field. Through her extensive work with children and adolescents with a wide range of social, emotional, and learning differences, Dr. Hollins has developed a deeply collaborative and thoughtful approach to assessment and intervention planning. Dr. Hollins believes in working closely with families, schools, and other professionals to identify meaningful, practical, and achievable next steps. She prioritizes listening and learning from parents, recognizing that they are the experts on their child. From that foundation, she works collaboratively to help families navigate complex systems and support each child in reaching their fullest potential.

FAQs

Common Questions

What age range do you serve?

Generally speaking, I begin testing for children at age 5 and continue testing through freshman year of college. There are some circumstances in which I will test beginning at 4-years-old and later in college or graduate school. These are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not take insurance. I am an out of network provider, which means that all clients self-pay for services rendered. Should you wish to seek potential reimbursement through your insurance provider, a detailed invoice with the information required to pursue that process will be provided.

How long does a psychological evaluation take to complete?

Once we have agreed to work together, we will begin with an intake appointment. During this appointment, Dr. Hollins will collect information from you about your child, about any providers or teachers you'd like to involve in the process then will determine which assessments to administer in subsequent sessions. The session testing days can take anywhere from 1-3 sessions. Following the evaluation, Dr. Hollins will meet with families for a detailed feedback session to review the evaluation, recommendations and answer any questions.
